iminbook provides AI-generated literary conversations for entertainment and reflection. Replies can be wrong or unexpected. Points are app-only virtual credit, purchases are handled by Apple, and a guest profile can be lost if you remove the app or change devices before connecting with Apple.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and the operator of iminbook (“iminbook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the iminbook mobile application, website, related APIs, content, and services (together, the “Service”).
By downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Additional terms from Apple may apply to your download, account connection, and in-app purchases.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If the minimum age to consent to online services in your country is higher, that higher age applies. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.
You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so or if we previously suspended you for serious or repeated violations.
3. What iminbook provides
iminbook lets you converse with AI-generated interpretations of selected characters from classic literature. You may be able to choose an original-world mode or a modern-world mode, continue conversations, save Moments, and maintain limited relationship memories.
AI-generated characters
Characters are fictional simulations, not real people, authors, actors, therapists, advisers, or authoritative editions of the original works. Replies are generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate, anachronistic, inconsistent, offensive, or otherwise unexpected. Do not rely on them for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other professional decisions.
Service changes
We may add, change, retire, or remove features, characters, works, modes, or content. We may remove content where needed for safety, quality, legal, or rights reasons. We do not promise that any particular character or feature will always be available.
4. Guest and Apple-connected profiles
The app may create a guest profile without requiring sign-in. You are responsible for the security of your device and profile credentials.
A guest profile may not be recoverable. If you uninstall the app, change devices, erase local credentials, or otherwise lose access before connecting the profile with Sign in with Apple, your chats, Moments, points, and unlocked characters may be permanently inaccessible. Consumable in-app purchases are not restored like non-consumable purchases.
You may be able to connect a guest profile with Sign in with Apple. When a merge is offered, point ledgers, unlocks, chats, and memories may be combined after duplicate transactions are removed. You must provide accurate information when required and must not transfer, sell, or share access to a profile.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, exploitative, or abusive activity.
- Upload content that violates another person’s privacy, publicity, intellectual-property, or other rights.
- Attempt to sexualize minors, facilitate self-harm or violence, obtain instructions for wrongdoing, or evade safety systems.
- Probe, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, scrape, automate against, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by law.
- Manipulate purchases, points, refunds, device identities, promotions, or account merging; create profiles to obtain duplicate welcome credit; or exploit technical errors.
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as the verified words of an author, a historical record, professional advice, or an official adaptation.
You can report a concerning reply through the in-app reporting control. We may investigate reports, remove content, limit features, or suspend access to protect the Service and its users.
6. Content and intellectual property
Your content
You retain any rights you have in messages and other content you submit. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, transmit, and adapt that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service, including through our service providers. This license ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical, legal, and security retention.
You are responsible for content you submit and confirm that you have the rights needed to submit it. Do not include another person’s confidential information without permission.
Our content
The Service, software, brand, interface, original character artwork, prompts, character packages, arrangement, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to iminbook and are protected by applicable laws. Classic source texts or characters may be in the public domain in some places, but iminbook’s original expression, artwork, code, and brand remain protected. Public-domain status can vary by country and edition.
We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes under these Terms. No other rights are granted.
7. Points, unlocks, and purchases
How points work
- Points are app-only virtual credit. They are not money, property, cryptocurrency, stored value, or a transferable balance and have no cash value.
- The app displays the point cost before an action. At launch, one point is charged only after one complete character reply, and a failed, stopped, or blocked reply costs no points.
- A locked character can generally be permanently unlocked for the profile at the price shown, initially 100 points. “Permanent” means for the life of that profile and while the character remains lawfully and safely available through the Service.
- Purchased points do not expire while your profile and the Service remain available. Promotional points may be subject to terms disclosed when granted.
Apple in-app purchases
Point purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store. Prices, taxes, currencies, payment authorization, family controls, and refunds are governed by Apple’s applicable terms and your App Store account. We do not receive your full payment-card information.
Purchases are final except where Apple or applicable law provides otherwise. Refund requests must generally be made through Apple. If a purchase is refunded, reversed, or revoked after points were granted, we may remove the unused points associated with it. If those points were already spent, later point credits may first cover the resulting adjustment and point-spending features may be limited until the adjustment is resolved.
Deleting a profile does not request or guarantee a refund and permanently removes its remaining points and unlocks. We may correct point balances affected by fraud, duplication, refund, technical error, or an incomplete transaction. Contact support@iminbook.com if a verified purchase is not credited.
8. Data deletion, suspension, and termination
You may request an account export or delete a profile using the controls in Me → Privacy & data. Deletion is irreversible. It removes chats, Moments, memories, unlocks, and points from that profile, subject to limited transaction or legal records described in the Privacy Policy.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address security risk, fraud, legal requirements, harmful conduct, non-payment, abuse, or material violation of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to appeal.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including intellectual property, purchase adjustments, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions—will survive.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that replies will be accurate, canonically faithful, suitable, safe, or free of errors, or that the Service will always be available or that stored data will never be lost.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, iminbook and its affiliates, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, goodwill, profits, opportunities, or business, arising from or related to the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US$50. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. General terms
Changes
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers, law, or risk. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing rules and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of iminbook, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve it informally. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a small-claims process where available.
Apple
These Terms are between you and iminbook, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Your use of the iOS app must comply with the App Store’s applicable usage rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are intended third-party beneficiaries of this paragraph and may enforce it.
Entire agreement
These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and us about the Service. If one provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain effective. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the Service.
